Promising biological targets for the design of multitarget neuromodulatory agents

Название: Promising biological targets for the design of multitarget neuromodulatory agents
Авторы: Bespalenko, D.; Velgan, R.; Severina, H.; Georgiyants, V.
Краткий осмотр (реферат): Neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders, including depression and cognitive
impairment, are characterized by complex multifactorial pathophysiology involving dysregulation of
multiple neurotransmitter systems, impaired neuroplasticity, and neuroinflammatory processes.
Traditional pharmacotherapy targeting a single biological target often demonstrates limited
therapeutic efficacy. Therefore, increasing attention has been paid to the concept of multitargetdirected ligands (MTDLs), which involves the design of compounds capable of modulating several
key biological targets within the central nervous system simultaneously [1].

Non-aqueous DPPH spectrophotometric assay for evaluating lipophilic compounds with tocopherol acetate calibration

Название: Non-aqueous DPPH spectrophotometric assay for evaluating lipophilic compounds with tocopherol acetate calibration
Авторы: Matus, T.; Ivanauskas, L.; Marksa, M.; Georgiyants, V.
Краткий осмотр (реферат): For assessing antioxidant activity of hydrophilic and lipophilic compounds, hydrophilic
standards (Trolox, ascorbic acid, gallic acid, rutin, etc.) are most commonly used in
spectrophotometric studies. However, for lipophilic substances, it is more appropriate to perform the
analysis in non-aqueous conditions and compare their activity with a lipophilic standard. α‑Tocopherol
serves as such a standard, demonstrating activity comparable to Trolox (1). Therefore, a DPPH-based
method in a non-aqueous medium was developed using α‑tocopherol as a standard and applied to
chamomile essential oil

Prospects for Implementing Continuous Flow Reactors for the Industrial Synthesis of APIs Based on Organometallic Reagents

Название: Prospects for Implementing Continuous Flow Reactors for the Industrial Synthesis of APIs Based on Organometallic Reagents
Авторы: Vernydub, M.; Georgiyants, V.
Краткий осмотр (реферат): The modern pharmaceutical industry requires the implementation of highly efficient
synthesis methods for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) based on "green chemistry" and
safety. Using highly reactive organometallic reagents like n-butyllithium in traditional batch processes
poses risks of thermal runaway, necessitating extreme cooling (-78 °C) and high energy costs.
Continuous flow reactors offer a solution to reduce technological hazards and increase efficiency for
such dangerous industrial-scale syntheses

Selection of conditions for impurities’ determination in combined ibuprofen/caffeine syrup by HPLC

Название: Selection of conditions for impurities’ determination in combined ibuprofen/caffeine syrup by HPLC
Авторы: Surzhikov, I.; Chornyi, V.; Georgiyants, V.
Краткий осмотр (реферат): The production of fixed combinations is a modern trend in pharmaceutical manufacturing
due to their advantages (1). Recently, a fairly large number of ibuprofen combinations have been
present on the pharmaceutical market (2,3). At the same time, such dosage forms may have problems
with both the bioavailability of the components and their potential interaction. That is why during the
pharmaceutical development of such products it is very important to ensure the absence of any
interaction between both the API and the excipients. For this purpose, it is important to have
developed methods for the chromatographic separation of the API and impurities in such dosage
forms
