Clinical and pharmacological approaches to pain management in patients with breast cancer in Morocco

Abstract

Recent studies have estimated that 52% to 77% cancer patients feel pain. Physicians and oncologist being the main actors when it comes to cancer pain management. This research is a study of the opinion among physicians and oncologists about their practices and beliefs. Based on the results of our study, we noted several barriers towards an adequate pain management, such as patients related, professional related barriers and system related barriers. In addition, we identified the role that the pharmacist can endorse to support the doctor so as to achieve an optimal cancer pain management.

За результатами останніх досліджень від 52% до 77% хворих на рак відчувають біль. Лікарі є основними дійовими особами, коли справа доходить до лікування ракового болю. Це дослідження є вивченням думки лікарів та онкологів щодо їхньої практики та переконань. Виходячи з результатів нашого дослідження, ми відзначили кілька перешкод на шляху до адекватного лікування болю, наприклад, пов'язані з пацієнтами, медичними працівниками та системні бар'єри. Крім того, ми визначили роль, яку фармацевт може виконувати для підтримки лікаря, щоб досягти оптимального лікування болю при злоякісних новоутвореннях.
