Oral dyssbiosis as a marker of cardiovascular system diseases

Abstract

Pathology of the cardiovascular system ranks first among the causes of mortality and disability of the population of Ukraine. At present, among the factors contributing to the development of cardiovascular diseases, the close relationship between the state of the microflora of the oral cavity and the risk of developing pathologies with a systemic inflammatory component draws attention. Based on the above, it is appropriate to consider periodontal disease as a source of chronic inflammation and as an independent risk factor for coronary heart disease (CHD).
