Pharmacognostic description of plants of the genus Artemisia

Abstract

The article presents literary data about the representatives of the genus Artemisia of different eco-geographical zones and wormwood biologically active substances (BAS). The key members of the genus BAS are terpene compounds, which are components of essential oils; related ones are organic and fatty acids, tannins, favonoids. Necessity of studying the component composition and pharmacological properties of essential oils of Artemisia aschurbajewii and Artemisia gmelinii has been substantiated. The authors have identifed effectiveness of the research of the wormwood types growing in Kazakhstan.

В статье приведены данные литературы о представителях рода полынь различных эколого-географических зон и биологически активных веществах (БАВ) полыни. Основные БАВ представителей рода – терпеновые соединения, являющиеся компонентами эфирных масел, сопутствующие – органические и жирные кислоты, дубильные вещества, флавоноиды. Обоснована необходимость изучения компонентного состава и фармакологических свойств эфирных масел Аrtemisia gmelinii Weber ex Stechm. и Artemisia aschurbajewi C.Winkl. Авторы определили перспективность исследований этих видов полыни, произрастающих в Республике Казахстане.
