Simultaneous determination of active pharmaceutical ingredients and preservatives in a new dental gel by HPLC method

Abstract

For the treatment and prevention of infectious and inflammatory diseases of periodontal, oral mucosa and for adapting to removable dentures, we have developed a new combined dental gel under the conventional name "Cholident", which includes APIs of both natural and synthetic origin: choline salicylate, lidocaine hydrochloride and herbal tincture «Phytodent» (PJSC "Chemical-pharmaceutical plant "Chervona Zirka"", Kharkiv, Ukraine). As preservatives were used methylparaben and propylparaben. Through experimental studies, the biopharmaceutical and adhesive properties of the developed gel were studied, and its antimicrobial and specific activity was proved. The next step is the development of methods for its quality control, which was the aim of this work.
