Development of foaming shampoo base for the treatment of Seborrheic Dermatitis

Abstract

Seborrheic dermatitis (SD) is a chronic inflammatory recurrent dermatosis characterized by erythematous-squamous rashes in areas with hypertrophied and hyperactive sebaceous glands. The key factor in the pathogenesis is changes in the functional activity of the sebaceous glands by various exogenous and endogenous factors, accompanied by the activation of Malassezia genus. Topical glucocorticosteroids, and antimicrobial and antifungal agents are used to treat the disease. However, most of them have shortterm effects, so finding new treatment approaches is necessary.
