Pharmacy students awareness of pharmacological regulation of water-salt metabolism and the kidney function – problematic fundamental and practical issues

Abstract

Fundamental knowledge of the function of the kidney and its pharmacological regulation is extremely important for the professional activities of the pharmacist. Decreasing sodium intake is crucial in reducing cardiovascular morbidity as well as other “diseases of civilization,” and there is a noteworthy opportunity for advancing pharmaceutical care in this area. The aspects that could be improved in the teaching process were summarized in the current work.
