Abstract: Physical therapy focuses on restoring and improving patients’ mobility, strength, and overall physical function. Effective communication between therapists and patients is essential for safe and effective rehabilitation outcomes. In English, phrasal verbs — verbs combined with prepositions or adverbs — are widely used in daily interactions. They provide simple, accessible ways to describe movements, exercises, and therapeutic actions. Common examples include sit up, lie down, warm up, cool down, stretch out, and keep up. Beyond clarity, phrasal verbs help motivate patients, create supportive environments, and enhance engagement. Mastering these expressions enables therapists to communicate efficiently, deliver safe exercise guidance, and improve patient participation throughout rehabilitation.
