Abstract: Buccal films are an innovative mucosal dosage form providing rapid onset of action, bypass of hepatic first-pass metabolism, and improved patient compliance [1]. The global market for oral polymeric films is steadily growing due to increasing demand for fast-acting antiemetic, analgesic, and neurological therapies. However, the development of a universal polymer platform with reproducible mechanical and biopharmaceutical properties, compatible with water-soluble active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), remains a significant challenge, particularly under small-batch manufacturing conditions
